The wailing wall. The new comers were firstly brought here, and put to stay facing the wall while being chained to iron rings. The interrogation would have then taken place and a brutal beating. The lucky ones were released after a few hours. The less fortunate ones were kept here for days. This was the initiation treatment. Today, the wall is covered with dozens of memorial plates..

Ok, i owe you some explanations about the Mauthausen camp for yesterday. The concentration camp was started in 1938, right after the Nazi occupation of Austria. The main purpose of it was of extermination through labor, as prisoners were forced to work on the rock quarry near. One of the most impressive places i got to visit in Austria was the nazi concentration camp from Mauthausen. That whole place is very touching even though, a big part of it was destroyed after the war. This was the only nazi camp, from the Austria, of extermination through labor. If you're ever in the Linz area, you really need to visit this place. I'll comeback with more on this subject
