For quite a few, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie grew to become well-known when her TED Talk, “We need to all be feminists”, was showcased in Beyoncé’s tune Flawless, but her books have been translated into far more than 30 languages close to the planet.

In an unique BBC 100 Women interview, the acclaimed Nigerian writer talks about the responsibilities that occur with remaining noticed as an feminist “icon” by many, and shares her thoughts on “cancel lifestyle” and what she sees as “language orthodoxy” about trans women.

She also tells the BBC’s Catherine Byaruhanga about her newest producing – a e book that offers with the really individual grief of losing her father in 2020 and why she has chosen to be so open about this time in her life.
