(Reuters) – Comedian Chris Rock and actress Rosie Perez built a shock physical appearance at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s everyday information meeting to underscore his concept that the community really should have on masks to help control the coronavirus pandemic.

The celebs, each of whom grew up in the New York Town borough of Brooklyn, stated they would take part in community company campaigns urging New Yorkers to take the pandemic very seriously, have on masks and take other measures to reduce the spread of the occasionally fatal virus.

Rock stated he was observing about 40 percent of individuals in Brooklyn wearing masks.

“It’s the little ones who seriously aren’t wearing a mask, and you know, it is unhappy,” he stated. “It’s unhappy that our health has turn into, you know, a form of political concern … It’s a status symbol, just about, to not have on a mask.”

Perez briefly spoke in Spanish.

“To mi gente, have on a mask, make sure you,” she stated. “The quantities in our communities are staggering. This is not a joke. This is not a hoax. This is serious.”
