City Of Hamilton To Waive Busker Fee This Year

The City of Hamilton has decided to waive busker costs for 2021 in “an energy to deliver extra vibrancy to Hamilton and reduce money strain on visible and efficiency artists brought about by Covid-19.”

The City’s Marketing and advertising and Communications Director Jessica Astwood reported, “Every year the Town of Hamilton hosts a Busker Programme which aims to endorse and have interaction nearby artists by ‘taking the arts to the people’, on the streets of Hamilton.

“Performance and Visible Arts Zones have been designed in precise community locations to enliven the Town, market creative expression and expose users of the public to Bermuda’s nearby talent in free of charge, outdoor public venues.

“Typically, we demand an annual $30 application price for busking inside the City, but we have made a decision to waive the cost this year as we take pleasure in the added financial pressure that the pandemic has placed on our local community and, in certain, on our artists and entertainers.”

“The City of Hamilton will supply permits to neighborhood artists so they may benefit from Overall performance and Visible Arts Zones.
