The Metropolis of Hamilton has issued a Ask for for Proposal for the ’2022 VIVID: City of Hamilton’ General public Artwork Initiative.
A spokesperson claimed, “Over the past 7 a long time, the City has run an artwork program that has seen the installation of over 20 items of general public art around Hamilton which includes murals, mosaics and the Chancery Lane lights and artwork task.
“In 2019 the system rebranded to develop into VIVID: Town of Hamilton Community Artwork Initiative. VIVID aims to enliven many regions in the Town of Hamilton by facilitating new public artwork installations that connect site visitors and the area local community to Bermuda art and tradition.”
The City’s Marketing Coordinator Sideya Dill stated, “This 12 months we are seeking regional artists to submit proposals for the structure and execution of big-scale road artwork or sculptures to appear in the City of Hamilton that will colour the Metropolis with Bermuda’s tradition and rich heritage.
“The VIVID Community Artwork Initiative is fully commited to operating with Bermuda’s nearby art businesses as well as independent artists to enable curate and put into action general public art installations in the City of Hamilton, contributing to its mandate to be a vivid city.
“Public art elevates the Town of Hamilton to much more than just a put of commerce and consumption it lets an avenue for accessible engagement with the constructed natural environment and will increase the social cash for our neighborhood.”
