“Baba Wain: A Musical Take note in the Vital of Beauty with E. W. Wainwright,” a 30-moment exclusive about the beloved Oakland jazz drummer and teacher, airs a 8 p.m. Friday on KRCB-Television, Channel 22, Cotati-Rohnert Park.

The movie, manufactured by Emmy Award winner Rick Bacigalupi, follows the musician, identified as “Baba Wain” to his learners, through a day of music instruction and counseling at the elementary school wherever he also directs the drum team.

In the documentary, Wainwright also shares his memories of the early days of the civil legal rights motion.

Wainwright’s initially significant tour was as a sideman with Bob Hope’s Considerably East Tour in 1968. He also performed with Redd Foxx and served as Oscar Brown Jr.’s band leader in 1969.

In early 1970, Wainwright moved to the Bay Space wherever he performed with Jerry Garcia, Merl Saunders and Earl “Father” Hines.

In the mid-nineteen seventies, Wainwright moved to New York, wherever he performed and toured with McCoy Tyner, Pharoah Sanders and other people. At the prestigious Carnegie Corridor, he performed together with Rahsaan Roland Kirk and McCoy Tyner.

Considering the fact that 1981, Wainwright has been a well known music advisor and very well identified for his volunteer work in the Bay Space.
