After spending the earlier couple months telling British Columbians that most situations of the Omicron variant are delicate, Dr. Bonnie Henry altered her tune today.
“I consider you can find a narrative all-around appropriate now that Omicron is gentle,” B.C.’s provincial wellbeing officer said. “We need to be incredibly very careful to dismiss this right now.”
Henry cautioned all those who aren’t in hospital that this is “not an innocuous ailment”.
She also emphasized that the Omicron variant of COVID-19 “can and is nevertheless triggering critical health issues in many”.
Her opinions came the early morning soon after the province claimed 15 new COVID-19 fatalities more than a 24-hour period.
That came immediately after 13 deaths in the previous 24-hour interval in B.C.
