The two British comedians apologize for carrying blackface and joking about transvestites in their sketch series right after the show was pulled by BBC and Netflix.

“Small Britain” ‘s Matt Lucas and David Walliams have apologised for their use of blackface in the comedy sketch series.
The duo donned fats suits and blackface to portray ethnic figures that a lot of new viewers have considered insensitive, primary to bosses at the BBC and Netflix to clear away the show from streaming companies.
In a joint statement, the pair insisted it was “wrong” to portray figures of other races, but reiterated it is one thing they have apologised for in the previous.
“Matt & I have both spoken publicly in the latest a long time of our regret that we performed figures of other races,” Walliams penned. “At the time yet again we want to make it clear that it was wrong & we are pretty sorry.”
Lucas went on to share the same statement on his personal social media internet pages.
Again in 2017, the former “Health practitioner Who” actor admitted that, “If I could go back again and do Small Britain yet again, I would not make people jokes about transvestites. I would not enjoy black figures.”
“Basically, I would not make that show now. It would upset folks. We produced a extra cruel type of comedy than I’d do now.”
“Small Britain” was a strike in the U.K. from 2003 to 2007.
