Photos: Six People Honoured At Arts Council

The Minister of Youth, Lifestyle and Activity, Dr. Ernest Peets extended congratulations to Main Kenneth Dill, Marjorie Pettit, the late Ted Ming, Paul and Penelope Leseur and Daren A. Herbert who had been all honoured at the Bermuda Arts Council’s [BAC] Yearly Awards Ceremony.

A Federal government spokesperson explained, “These six Bermudians have been celebrated for their sizeable contributions to the island’s arts and cultural scene. The hybrid in-individual and digital event took place at the Earl Cameron Theatre, wherever the Minister introduced awards in the groups of, Life time Accomplishment Award, Founder’s Award, Patron Award and the Earl Cameron Award.

“The recipients ended up honoured with the pursuing:

  • Important Kenneth [Toki] Dill, received the Life span Achievement Award for his immense contributions as a former Bermuda Regiment Bandmaster and new music teacher.
  • Marjorie Pettit, also received the Life span Accomplishment Award for her renowned work with the Bermuda Faculty of Music as its Director of Tunes.
  • The late Ted Ming, was posthumously honoured with the Founder’s Award. As the previous group chief and lead vocalist of the Bermuda Strollers, Ted Ming was a genuine ambassador for Bermuda Tourism and a pioneer and visionary in his field.
  • Paul and Penelope Leseur, gained the Patron Award, for their really generous help of arts in Bermuda and
  • Daren A. Herbert, a growing star, acquired the prestigious Earl Cameron Award for his critically acclaimed vocation as a theatre, stage and film actor.
