BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — This weekend brought the Brookings Summer Arts Pageant, with artists ready to showcase their artwork for the local community

“We’re nearly shut to 200 artwork booths, but we have a overall shut to 270 booths which include the children’s antiques and residing record the edibles and naturals meals booth,” Shari Avery stated.

Publicity Director Shari Avery suggests artists and their work appear from all over the place.

“The Brookings Summer Artwork Pageant was established 51 several years ago. A whole lot of grassroots items went into it, a lot of conversations at a coffee store. Joeline Steffan is an artist from Nebraska who suggests she has been coming to this festival for the previous 30 many years.

Most of Steffan’s artwork is based on Midwestern landscapes.

“We farm, my husband and I, so I have a lot of ag-linked scenes that I do,” Steffan stated.

Dave Hubner is 1 of the festival’s founders as very well as a potter from Bushwell, South Dakota.
