Actor Tristan “Mack” Wilds hosts “Profiled: The Black Guy,” a four-section docuseries premiering Saturday (Feb. 12) on discovery+ that addresses the triumphs and stereotypes of black guys.
“I imagine it is vital to explore black men and the struggles and triumphs that we face, the two great and bad,” Wilds explained to The Write-up. “Black men are typically stigmatized with unfavorable connotations, so I am extremely happy to be a component of this journey — not only as an actor but a black guy as properly.”
The sequence premieres with an episode entitled “Black Adult males Are Dangerous,” followed in consecutive months by “Black Males Are Absent Fathers,” “Black Guys Devalue Women” and “Black Adult males Do not Cry.”
“Profiled” is government-manufactured by Tina Knowles-Lawson and Emmy-successful actor Billy Porter (“Pose”).
