PRAGUE – Milan Kundera, the ninety one-calendar year-old creator of “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” and other acclaimed novels, has made a decision to donate his personal library and archive to a community library in the Czech city in which he was born and used his childhood.

The Moravian Library in the city of Brno said Thursday that the whole assortment would be transported from Kundera’s apartment in Paris in the slide.

The donated objects involve editions of Kundera’s books in Czech and some forty other languages, posts penned by and about him, posted critiques and criticism of his function, newspapers clippings, licensed pictures and drawings by the creator.

All the things will be built accessible to the community, primarily in electronic variations, the library said.

Czech Tradition Minister Lubomir Zaoralek welcomed the shift, calling it “an amazing cultural event.”

Kundera fled communist Czechoslovakia and has lived in France because 1975. France is in which he posted his most famous books, together with “The E-book of Laughter and Forgetting” (1979), “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” (1984), “The Art of the Novel” (1986) and “Immortality” (1990).

His later on operates, penned in French, have not yet been translated into Czech. Kundera’s spouse, Vera, explained to the library that her spouse has been cooperating with a translator on the first Czech edition of his 2000 novel “Ignorance.”

The creator lives in virtual seclusion, only travels to his homeland incognito and by no means speaks to reporters.
